The President addresses Arctic Circle's opening ceremony.

The President delivers an address at the opening ceremony of Arctic Circle. The Assembly is the largest international forum in the world for dialogue on Arctic affairs.
In her address, the President welcomed the platform that the Arctic Circle Assembly provides for discussing Arctic issues, especially after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine reduced opportunities for cooperation in the Arctic Council. The President emphasized the importance of joining forces across borders to tackle the many challenges currently facing the global community, not least those arising from climate change.
“At a time like this, every individual, organization, country and region must ask what role they might play in catalyzing a better-working world. I have high ambition for Iceland’s role in the world and see it as our purpose to be a „land of solutions“ – to unlock our creativity from art to science to industry to solve the world’s biggest challenges. I hope you’ll use your time here to seek opportunities to join us and others in that ambition. The time has come where good people working together, can – and indeed must – show the world what is possible."
