The President sends condolences to Haakon VIII following the death of Harald V.
The President sent Haakon VIII a letter of condolence following the death King Harald V of Norway. In the letter, the President recalls, among other things, Harald V’s official visits to Iceland in 1992 and 2000, as well as their warm and sincere interactions when the presidential couple made a state visit to Norway in the spring of 2025.
