The President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, had a private meeting this morning with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV in the Vatican. Afterwards, she and Icelandic delegation met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, accompanied by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.
During the meetings, the positive and significant bilateral relations between the Holy See and Iceland were underscored. Discussions focused on regional and international issues, with particular attention to situations of conflict, the importance of dialogue, and prospects for peace.
