The President welcomes visitors from the United States and Canada.

The President received a group of people from Canada and the United States who trace their ancestry to Iceland and have come here to learn about the country’s history and to meet relatives. Their program here is organized under the banner of the Snorri Programs, which aim to strengthen ties between Icelanders and the descendants of Icelandic immigrants to North America. It emerged that two of the guests were able to trace a common family line with each other and with the President. Among the topics discussed was the recent visit of the presidential couple to Winnipeg and their participation in The Icelandic Festival in Gimli.
