The President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, and her spouse, Björn Skúlason, participated yesterday in celebrations in Stockholm marking the 80th birthday of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
During their visit, they attended a church service at the Palace Church, were hosted for lunch by the Stockholm City Council at City Hall, and took part in a gala dinner at the Swedish Royal Palace. The President welcomed the opportunity to strengthen ties with fellow Nordic leaders.
The presidential couple are expected to return to Iceland later today.
