The President inaugurates a sports center in Búðardalur.
The President inaugurated an impressive sports center in Búðardalur in the presence of a large crowd. The center includes a sports hall, gym facilities, a swimming pool, a steam bath and hot tubs. No such facilities previously existed in Búðardalur. In her speech at the inauguration ceremony, the President said among other things:
“The classic saying ‘A healthy mind in a healthy body’ is most often understood as a description of an individual, but it can just as well be applied to smaller and larger communities and even entire nations. The sports center in Búðardalur will fulfill its role in the coming decades and lay the foundation for physical and mental health here in Dalabyggð in the future. The area has long captivated people, and it will enchant locals and visitors even more after this fine inauguration day.”
