The President meets with representatives of IGI


The President met with representatives of the Icelandic Gaming Industry (IGI). Within the organization there are over 20 companies employing around 500 people. They discussed the rapid growth of the Icelandic gaming industry in recent years and the opportunities for further growth in the future.
The association works for the common interests of Icelandic gaming companies, including promoting Icelandic production and design abroad. It was stated at the meeting that over 86% of Icelanders aged 18–30 say they play video games, as do 78% in the 31–45 age group.
Attending the meeting were Halldór Snær Kristjánsson, founder of Myrkur Games and chairman of IGI, Stefán Björnsson, founder of Solid Clouds and board member of IGI, Erla Tinna Stefánsdóttir, project manager at IGI, and Eggert Árni Gíslason, chairman of Solid Clouds.
