The President visits the exhibition "Lend me wings. Vigdís Finnbogadóttir – life and impact"
The President visits the exhibition Lend Me Wings along with the subject of the exhibition, Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, former President of Iceland. The exhibition is dedicated to her life and work. It is housed in the Telegraph Station (Loftskeytastöðin) on Suðurgata in Reykjavík and is a collaborative project between the University of Iceland and the The Vigdís International Centre for Multilingualism and Intercultural Understanding.
Jón Atli Benediktsson, Rector of the University of Iceland, welcomed the President and former President and said a few words at the start of the visit. The exhibition sheds light on Vigdís Finnbogadóttir's influence both in Iceland and in an international context, and the issues she has championed, both as President of Iceland and later as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.
