The Presidential Couple visit Japan for EXPO 2025

The Presidential Couple will visit Japan from May 26 to June 1.

The presidential couple will visit Japan from May 26 to June 1 on the occasion of the World Expo 2025, which is being held in Osaka. The exhibition opened in April and runs until October.
Iceland is taking part in a joint Nordic pavilion at the World Expo with Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The main focus of the pavilion is to provide insight into life in the North, Nordic values, and the close relationship between the Nordic nations and nature.
Meeting with the Japanese Emperor and the Prime Minister
Alongside the World Expo in Osaka, Business Iceland is hosting the festival Taste of Iceland in Tokyo on May 30–31, in which the President will also take part. The aim of the festival is to promote Icelandic culture, cuisine, and Iceland as a destination to the Japanese public and professionals.
During the visit to Japan, the President will meet with Emperor Naruhito. She will also have a meeting with Ishiba Shigeru, the Prime Minister of Japan.
