State visit to Sweden 2025

The President of Iceland visits Sweden.






The President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, and her husband, Björn Skúlason, travelled to Sweden for a state visit from the 6th to the 9th of May. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, and Minister of Health, Alma Möller, accompanied the President, along with an official delegation and representatives from the business and cultural sectors.
The aim of the visit is to strengthen the good relations between the countries and to work towards further cooperation, for example in the fields of healthcare, filmmaking and national security. Alongside the State Visit, a business delegation led by Business Iceland is traveling to Sweden with representatives of 30 Icelandic companies, with a focus on biotechnology, innovation and investment.
