The President presents an Icelandic Music Award.

The President took part in the Icelandic Music Awards ceremony at Harpa in Reykjavík. Jazz musician Sara Mjöll Magnúsdóttir was chosen the Brightest Hope, and the President presented her with the award.
Sara Mjöll, who moves with equal ease between piano and Hammond organ, has in recent years performed with her own bands and is also a sought-after accompanist. In 2025 she stepped forward as a bandleader with the release of her first album, A Place to Bloom “Her ambition, initiative and advanced studies in New York, one of the world’s jazz capitals, underline that she is a musician who is destined to make a major mark in the years to come,” the President said on this occasion.
On the Icelandic Music Awards website you can learn about the winners and the nominated artists.
